Mc Mugz: The Godfather of Bangladeshi Hip-Hop, From Deshi MCs to Coke Studio Bangla & Beyond:
Mc Mugz a rapper, lyricist, producer, composer, and a beast on the keys is more than just an artist. He’s a movement. Straight outta Deshi MCs, the first-ever rap crew in Bangladesh (2007), Mugz was there when the culture was still raw, still underground. In 2008, he set the stage on fire opening for Bombay Rockers in Dhaka, proving Deshi hip-hop had a voice.
By 2015, he flipped the script again founding the legendary Jalali Set, putting the streets back on the map and cementing his name in the rap history of Bangladesh.
Fast-forward to 2019, Mugz stepped into the game as a judge at the country’s first-ever rap battle competition, becoming the bridge between the OGs and the new blood. Then in 2022, he dropped Bhober Pagol on Coke Studio Bangla Season One. An anthem that didn’t just blow up locally, it crossed borders, making Mugz a household name across South Asia. That same wave carried him to India, where he shared stages with legends like Runa Laila, Shankar–Ehsaan–Loy, and Fossils.
Now in 2025, nearly two decades deep, Mc Mugz is still rewriting the rules. He’s building Beat Men Records and Root Bangla Crew, laying the foundation for the next generation of Bangladeshi hip-hop. And the streets are buzzing because his long-awaited solo debut album is finally on the way. Mc Mugz isn’t just a rapper. He’s a forefather of Desi hip-hop, a cultural architect, and a living encyclopedia of the movement. When you talk about Bangladeshi rap history. His name stays stamped at the top.
Mc Mugz Breaks Silence in Rare Yamaha Music Interview, Performs “Ushta Pickup” Live with Rage Mode:
When a Bangla hip-hop icon like Mc Mugz speaks, the culture listens. Recently, the legendary rapper, producer, and composer sat down with Yamaha Music Bangladesh by ACI Motors LTD for a rare interview and the internet hasn’t stopped talking since.
The clip instantly went viral, especially the moment where Mugz gave flowers to Deshi MCs, calling them the first-ever Bangla rap crew that started it all. For hip-hop heads, that acknowledgment was history in the making a reminder of how the movement was born back in 2007. But that’s not all. Mugz didn’t just talk this time. The rapper came through with an epic performance. Teaming up with Rage Mode, he lit up the stage with a wild live version of his banger “Ushta Pickup”, riding over a crazy drum loop that had the crowd locked in. This appearance hits different, because it marks Mugz’s first live performance since the release of “Bankas” the track that had the streets buzzing and the timeline shaking. Seeing him back, sharp as ever, only proves one thing: Bangladeshi hip-hop is alive and Mugz is still its heartbeat. With fans hyped and clips spreading everywhere, the culture is once again reminded why Mc Mugz isn’t just another rapper — he’s the voice of Bangla hip-hop.
